2023 Honda HR-V Exterior: The first generation Honda HR-V was based on the wonderful and versatile Honda Fit architecture, but the second generation Honda hopes to take the HR-V up the market by constructing it on the same architecture as the Civic, making it larger, more powerful, and refined.
2023 Honda HR-V Exterior Highlights:
- EX-L trim has a gloss black insert in the grill
- Multi-reflector fully LED headlights
- LED low and high beams
- LED turn signals in daytime running lights
- Based on the global architecture platform
- Side integrated turn signal mirror
- Only the EX-L trim level has a sunroof
- On two trims, the exhaust tips are not visible.
Honda is focusing on SUVs this year. The HRV is the start of a new design language for Honda SUVs; it all starts with this vehicle, and you can notice that it just looks a lot more grown-up; it looks a little bit more sophisticated compared to the previous generation.

2023 Honda HR-V Front:
The top-of-the-line EX-L has a gloss black insert in the grill with the Honda logo detached from the grille; this is a newer design element.
The company’s multi-reflector fully LED headlights, LED low and high beams, LED turn signals in daytime running lights, no fog lights, and additional gloss black in the lower front fascia are now standard on all HRVs.
Unlike the previous generation, where LED headlights were not even available on the 2022 model, this is a significant change that makes the car a lot safer to drive at night and appears much more modern.

2023 Honda HR-V Side:
The 2023 Honda HR-V is based on the global architecture platform that also supports the new Civic; it’s not the same platform, but it’s probably similar, which means the 2023 Honda HR-V exterior is much longer than before, measuring 179.8 inches overall.
The wheelbase has been increased by two inches to 104.5 inches, and the rear suspension is now fully independent, as compared to the twist beam and the previous model. The EXL trim features gloss black on the fender trim and wheel arches and 18-inch alloy wheels.
The 2023 Honda HR-V exterior has an integrated turn signal mirror, which is also available on the sport trim with a lot of gloss black, and the EX-L trim is the only trim to include a sunroof. A Panoramic roof is not available, and the sport trim does not have a sunroof.
